Robert Newell Lighting Design is an architectural
lighting design firm founded in 1984 which offers limited and comprehensive
consultation in the design and planning of the luminous environment. Guided by Robert Newell, the firm has
completed a variety of diverse projects for institutional, corporate,
government, hospitality, residential and commercial clients. This work has
ranged from prestigious single-family homes to 600,000 square foot corporate
facilities. Other commissions include
restaurants, spas, senior living centers, nursing homes, corporate
facilities, retail spaces, educational facilities, residences, and building
and site lighting for both residential and commercial applications. Our clients include Architects, Landscape
Architects, Interior Designers, Engineers, Developers, Facility Managers,
Store and Office Planners, and end users who require skilled lighting design. Robert Newell, Principal,
is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and the
Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. He is an experienced lighting designer with
an in-depth understanding of lighting design principals, techniques, and
applications. He is frequently a quest lecturer on a variety of lighting
design subjects for the Illuminating Engineering Society and design programs
at local Universities. He provides
clients with expert testimony for Planning Boards, Boards of Adjustment, and
litigation. He is currently a staff

functional for architecture, interiors, and landscapes. By defining spaces, reinforcing the

of the space, our lighting design is a discipline that our clients find
necessary. We also respect our client’s budget and scheduling constraints and
respond to the current demands of energy conservation by utilizing the
current technologies to reduce energy consumption. Our library is up-to-date on light
sources, current and emerging lighting equipment and lighting control
systems. We generate computer
renderings lighting using “AGI 32” and use a variety of lighting calculations
programs. We use AutoCAD and use
email for shipping. In today’s building economy, our
menu driven services offer our clients’ large and small the type of lighting
design service that best fits their needs, from lighting design consultation
